The children enjoyed a range of activities turning national World Book Day into a fun-packed Book Week! The snow may have interrupted our week but the children enjoyed picking up where they left off the following week.
Every child took part in the 'Big Book off challenge' and their teachers planned exciting activities around a high quality text.
We were lucky enough to have well known author Ian Macdonald to work with the children. The children were really enthusiastic to write and asked Ian for lots of good tips for writing stories. Every year group took part in a workshop and produced some high quality writing.
The school is currently focusing on reading, with all children encouraged to take part in the the 'One Hundred Million Minutes Reading Challenge'. The children have been reading lots over the course of the week and everyone made their own book bag.
The children also replicated 'domino rally' but with books in the playground where the whole school chanted 'WE LOVE BOOKS'. Check out our video!
