September staggered start

Whole school parents

Dear Parents,

It is hard to believe we have come to the end of this academic year. It has been an extraordinary year, and we as a community have had to operate in ways that we never thought would have been possible before.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for being willing to work alongside us, as we have had to navigate home schooling and remote education.  You have all made a phenomenal effort under very challenging circumstances. In addition, I would like to acknowledge the huge effort of our amazing staff who have worked tirelessly to enable children to have some sense of continuity in their learning.

We are very much looking forward to welcoming back everyone in September. In order to comply with guidance from the Government, we will be staggering the children’s playtimes, lunchtimes, as well as the start and finish times for the school day. This is to ensure that children stay within their own class bubbles and do not mix with other classes. Please refer to our risk assessment on the school website for more information.

Please see the start and finish times below:

Year group

For those families with children in different year groups, the children will be arriving and finishing at the same time. In which case, please drop off and pick up all your children at the time slot allocated for your youngest child. Teaching assistants will be based in classes to supervise siblings who arrive earlier than their school day starts.

In order to avoid overcrowding in the school, we are permitting parents of children in Reception and year 1 classes to enter the school playground when dropping off and picking up their children. Parents in other year groups will be asked to queue outside the main office to collect their children. A member of staff will be on the school gate in the mornings to supervise children coming into school so parents of children in yrs 2-6 will not need to enter the school premises in the morning. Please ensure you maintain social distancing when collecting/dropping off your children.

Children in years 5 and 6 will have a later lunchtime of 12:45pm so we suggest that children in those year groups bring in a piece of fruit to eat during their morning break time.

We will be running our breakfast club again, however if you are requiring this early start at 8am you must email the school office at regardless of whether you have attended previously.  We only have limited numbers and so please only request a place if it is essential.

Likewise Bebie will be running her after school provision which will start for some children at 3pm and will go until 5:30pm.  If you would like your child to participate in this please email her at or ring her mobile 07950579595.

For now, no other afterschool clubs will be running in September, nor will there be any whole school events or class assemblies.

We are very much looking forward to seeing everyone again in September where we can be a whole school community once more.

Best wishes

Sam Adcock
