Train to Teach

St Peter's is a Strategic Partner School within the West London Teaching School Alliance (WLTSA).  The WLTSA recruit candidates for approximately 100 School Direct teacher training places (both primary and secondary).  The programme leads to the award of PGCE with the potential for 60 credits towards a Master’s degree and Qualified Teacher Status. Trainee teachers will be placed in a local school in an unsalaried placement, however some schools award a bursary - typically £6000.

The WLTSA website www.wltsa.org.uk  Initial Teacher Training tab includes tables listing all the WLTSA teacher training programmes including those at St Peter's.  By clicking on the programme information button, you will be able access further information about the specific course requirements and information about how to apply.

Any queries regarding these programmes should be sent to: pcurrey@sacredh.lbhf.sch.uk

WLTSA RECRUITMENT EVENTS & INFORMATION SESSIONS

WLTSA run a series of  information sessions throughout the academic year.  These include a  presentation explaining the significance of the different qualifications and of different types of teacher training provider; how to search for courses; entry requirements, finance and top tips on making a successful application.

You can also book to join one of their live online presentations with Q&A session before applying if you are confused about how teacher training works - feedback from candidates suggests it has made things so much clearer for them https://www.wltta.org.uk/initial-teacher-training/book-to-join-live-online-presentation-and-q-a/
