Welcome and thank you for visiting our Year 2 page!

Here you will find: the Year 2 curriculum overviews, photographs of the children enjoying different learning experiences and photographs of their work.

Year 2 is the important transition year between KS1 and KS2 and we have lots of exciting and interesting learning experiences planned for the children. I know they'll make great progress both academically and socially and we will be with them every step of the way.

Reading records

Reading records should be in bags every day. 

On Wednesday, reading diaries will be checked and books will be swapped. Each child will receive two books. Children who have less than 5 entries in their diaries will need to attend reading catch up during Wednesday PM break. More than 3 attendances at reading club in a half term will prompt a parent meeting.

Homework

Year 2 will need to complete the following as homework each week:

• Spellings practice (these are in orange homework books)
• Numbots or TTRS - approximately 60mins each week (logins stuck in orange books)
• Daily reading practice.
